“The most important film you’ll see all year”
A second chance to watch The People’s Emergency Briefing in a local venue as part of your community with people facing the same challenges together. In this film Chris Packham, leading climate and nature scientists, a former General, and Jennifer Saunders are all pretty frank about where things are heading in terms of climate change, and what can be done about it.
It’s being shown free of charge up and down the country as an opportunity for people to come together, hear clear information, and think about what it may mean for their our own communities. Although the film looks at national risks, the discussion quickly becomes local because every place has its own questions and challenges.
These quotes from earlier screenings give a flavour of how the film has gone down:
“What stood out was the energy that comes when people are able to face difficult information together, rather than feeling they are carrying it alone.”
The National Emergency Briefing initiative is explicitly non-partisan and supported by a wide range of organisations, including the Church of England, National Trust, WWF, the Royal Meteorological Society and many others.
This local screening is being organised by Upper Beeding Parish Council as part of the Joint Parishes Climate Action Group.
