Steyning Downland Scheme Songs of the Dawn

Join dedicated birder, Andrew Armitage and experience the tremendously varied birdlife of the Steyning Downland Scheme on this gentle stroll through the woods and meadows of Steyning Rifle Range.

Over 100 species have now been seen on the SDS. We probably won’t encounter all of those on this walk, but expect to record up to 25 species, including outstanding songsters such as the Chaffinch, Song Thrush and perhaps even Nightingale.

Ticket price includes a full cooked, alfresco breakfast! Limited ticket numbers available. Children aged 16 and under go free!

Meet at the SDS Gateway, off Mouse Lane (nearest postcode: BN44 3LQ; What3Words: ecologist.baseline.pegs. Involves a 2 mile (3.2km) walk over uneven terrain. Please wear stout footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather. Sorry no dogs.
