Fighting Food Waste & Saving Money
Fresh free food – twice a week!
On Sept 5th 2022 were were excited to launch the BN44 Community Fridge. With the aim of cutting food waste, we collect food that has just passed its sell by date but is still good to eat and give it away FREE to anyone who will make good use of it.
We are sourcing food from a growing range of shops including Steyning Co-op and other nearby Co-ops, Truffles, Budgens, and Nisa in Beeding. A big thanks to them all for making this possible, and also to Fair Divide and the Wilson Memorial Trust for supporting the initiative. Any leftovers are distributed to other community organisations, such as the Beeding Warm Hub, Croft Meadow Care Home and Southdown Nursery.
