Action Group

Creating positive change through what we buy and how we use resources
As part of the 2030 Project, the Green Consumer Action Group is exploring how we can support local businesses by encouraging people to shop locally, and change people’s habits and behaviour so much more is repaired and recycled, and far less is wasted.
If you’d like to get involved in this Action Group, either as an active member or an occasional helper, please fill in the sign up form and we’ll be in contact: https://bit.ly/2030ActionGroup

Here’s what we’re working on

#2030consumer
You know there is a climate problem and biodiversity is disappearing, but it all seems so difficult to solve. No matter how small a positive change you make, it is part of the solution. We are determined to be here to support you make those changes and be a #2030 consumer and business. We aim to provide:
- information on ‘how do I…’;
- opportunities to buy ‘greener’ products locally; and
- encouragement, by making going green easier for all of us.
What is already happening? You are not alone, lots of individuals, businesses, organisations and even governments are seeking and implementing solutions. See the What is already happening section.
Over the next decade we will implement solutions. To start with we are:
- opening a repair café; (here’s an interesting article about repairing electronics)
- helping you reduce waste with more opportunities to refill containers;
- providing more opportunities to recycle those ‘hard to recycle’ items;
- supporting school green initiatives; and
- encouraging a net zero carbon high street.
Be #2030Consumer or #2030 Business and be part of the solution.
